Spilled Book Cover

SPILLED...

I finally quit drinking by reading the stories of others, slowly realizing I wasn't alone in what had become my own personal hell of alcohol addiction.

Then my own story spilled out - in poems. So was born this book I put together for you, to maybe help you feel not so alone. It's my not-so-pretty story of getting sober - the darkness, the light, and the truth of everything that is in between.

Readers have called it "vulnerable & relatable," "refreshing," "beautiful, straight-forward, and deeply moving," "raw," "honest & inspiring," and a lot more.

See what people have been (soberly) buzzing about...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Spilled is a great addition to your sober toolkit. Every poem is almost like an individual meditation on a different topic, thought, or feeling that goes on throughout recovery. Camille really nails it. It’s like she gets in your head and speaks directly to your experience. She just writes in a way that I think is very heart opening and helps us heal.” –Lisa Smith, author of Girl Walks Out of a Bar

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “I’m so excited we have this poetry collection in the quit lit genre now. It’s so personal, and Camille really brings a lot to the page.” -Tawny Lara, author of Dry Humping & founder of Drink Parentheses

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “If you are thinking about getting sober, considering your drinking habits, or if you need a sober friend to tell you their sober story so you don’t feel like an alien in a drinking world… this book will be a guiding light.

Vulnerable and relatable to my own sober journey. I resonate with these words as I try to define what drinking means to me, and how it’s affected me. Through the author’s vulnerable expression, I am able to see that I am not alone in “grey area drinking”– which is a new term to me. This collection illustrates the journey of a “trying girl” who becomes someone who is finally able to quit drinking. It reflected my inner questions of “when do I know this is really bad/rock bottom?” and the poem “moderation monster” is like the essence of why I can’t drink. This book talks about drunk shadows that follow us into our sober selves, and all the ways we have to create ourselves when our memories are lost to the spirits. There’s a lot of self love and self encouragement poems in here.” – Jessica Leigh, author of Stages
