Camille St. Martin
Camille is a writer, poet, author, and spoken word performer.
After struggling with alcohol for many years, Camille embarked on a journey of sobriety that led to a rediscovered passion for writing and poetry. In her writing and reflection, she found her own healing from addiction. Through her words, she provides language, comfort and support to others who are facing similar struggles. She hopes to help others feel not so alone in their own challenges with alcohol.
Prior to writing, Camille ran her own marketing business while she travelled (and drank) her way around the world. However, she took a break from her business to get back in touch with her poetic side and to write her first book, Spilled. This decision proved to be a turning point in her life, as she found her true voice and purpose – giving a poetic voice to sobriety, and helping others to do the same.
Plant medicine also played a pivotal part in Camille’s recovery journey. A profound experience reconnected her to her creativity and writing. This allowed her to tap into her deepest emotions around her path to sobriety and ultimately self-love. The poems in Spilled were born from that introspective experience.
Now rooted in Monument, CO, Camille is surrounded by nature and trails that she loves to explore. She is also a performer at heart and enjoys expressing herself through spoken word performances, along with dance, hula hooping, and other forms of healing movement.
Camille continues to explore her passions and share her experiences through her writing. Spilled is her first book, inspired by her own journey through addiction and recovery. She hopes to inspire others to explore poetry as a healing tool in their sober journeys. Look out for workshops to help you to use poetry in your own healing journey from addiction.
